Scott Livingstone
I create images from personal experience. Most often works are a response to the environment in which I live in every day. The form of my images runs the gamut of stylistic representation: from realistic, to abstract, to nonobjective. The commonality of these seemingly dissimilar forms of representation is personal feeling. If I have no belief in the work, or feeling for it, it's not worth doing. The work itself speaks as to how it will be best represented, as sculpture, drawing, painting or mixed media image. I find that all of my works representational or not are informed by the history of modern and postmodern art.
