Helen Normandeau: ...in communion with...
February 24 - April 2, 2011
Window: video produced by Brian French and Laurie Langford

Helen Normandeau’s exhibition…in communion with… is an exploration into the world of the abstract, encompassing a search for the true essence of colour, shape, line and texture. Although the essential nature of pure abstraction has eluded her for almost 20 years, Helen had a EUREKA moment that has lifted a veil.

After numerous trials and experimentations, she now has a clarity that she did not have before. She has been freed from the strictures of realism and can now paint her way into the true abstract with a clarity that she has been searching for all along.

Helen was born in Windsor, Ontario, and currently resides in Chatham. She has an undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a master’s degree in Textile Design from the University of Wisconsin. Although she has pursued artistic ventures throughout her life, it was only after her retirement that she seriously approached the study.

…in communion with.. will on display from February 24 to April 2, 2011 with an opening reception on Thursday February 24th at 7pm.
